Homelessness Week raises awareness of people experiencing homelessness, the issues they face and the action needed to achieve enduring solutions. Homelessness Week is a national event, with events held across Australia during the first full week in August.
This year, Homelessness Week will be held from the 5th-11th of August, beginning with a national launch in Hobart.
Date: Monday 5th August 2019
Location: Mather’s House, Hobart.
Events will be held right across Tasmania throughout Homelessness Week. Information will be added as events are announced, but you can stay up to date with what’s happening in Homelessness Week (and the housing and homelessness sector) by subscribing to Shelter Tas’ eNews.
Host an event
Hosting an event during Homelessness Week is a great way to raise awareness and connections within your community. You can also use it to build political influence to achieve change – for example by visiting your local MP or inviting them to attend your event.
Resources will be available soon to help you plan and promote your event. If your organisation is holding an event for Homelessness Week in Tasmania and you would like to be included in the event calendar, please contact us.
